Gastric by pass

I had my gastric by pass surgery on 9/3. I was hard to ventilate and then hard to get of the ventilation. I ended up in ICU with a 102.9 fever and pneumonia until 9/8. I was taking back to the hospital because I almost bleed to death and need 4 pints of blood. I was given blood thinner injections after surgery to prevent blood clots. I could not handle the blood thinners. I was in the hospital from 9/10 to 9/13. I have been home since Friday. I have developed a bad stomach ache and diarrhea on Monday. Come to find out in very rare cases the surgery can make you lactose intolerant. I have been having my protein shakes with soy milk and it has helped a lot.

I have no regrets. My daughter Amanda had the surgery last June and she is almost 200 lbs down. I want to be healthier, happier and thinner. It has all been worth it. I am so glad I had the surgery even with the secondary conditions.
